Dover doctor indicted by grand jury for wife's murder
A grand jury has indicted a local doctor for the murder of his wife, who was found dead in May in an outdoor area not far from their home, according to authorities.
Ingolf Tuerk, 58, of Dover, faces a murder charge in the death of 45-year-old Kathleen McLean, the Norfolk District Attorney's Office said.
McLean had last been seen at the couple's Valley Road home on Thursday, May 14, when Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the district attorney's office, Dover police and Dedham police began investigating the circumstances of her disappearance.
According to authorities, police developed information about her possible location and found her remains the following Saturday. She was found in a small pond not far from the couple's home.
"The indictment was returned today – we will work with defense counsel to schedule an arraignment in the coming weeks," Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said in a statement. "Until then, Mr. Tuerk remains held without bail."
Tuerk is a urologist who was featured on WCVB's Chronicle in 2013 for his work with robotic surgery.
In November 2019, he agreed to pay $150,000 in a settlement with Attorney General Maura Healey after he was accused of falsely billing MassHealth for equipment that was not being used in procedures.
