Within just a few days, the number of open recreational marijuana shops in Massachusetts is going to double.The first two shops, located in Leicester and Northampton, opened in November. Another is set to open Saturday in Salem and the fourth is scheduled to open Tuesday in Wareham. Alternative Therapies Group Inc., located at 50 Grove St. in Salem, will operate on an appointment-only basis when they open for business Saturday. They hope this will help to control traffic and supply.ATG and Salem officials are also providing a shuttle to encourage customers with appointments to use the Commuter Rail to reach Salem. Verilife, located at 112 Main St. in Wareham, is scheduled to open Tuesday. Wareham Police Chief John Walcek has scheduled a press conference for Friday afternoon to discuss their plans for the opening. Verilife is offering online ordering and a shuttle to a remote parking lot, located at 3031 Cranberry Highway. They're also encouraging customers to sign in to a position in line and eat at a nearby restaurant while they wait. Both facilities will undergo final inspections before being allowed to open. Additionally, the Cannabis Control Commission voted Thursday to approve licenses for four more businesses. Those shops will be located in Great Barrington, Pittsfield, Hudson and Fall River.
