Severe thunderstorms topple trees, down power lines
LOOK OVER THE OCEAN. STILL SEEING A LOT OF THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY. IMPRESSIVE LINE. IT STARTED ABOUT 1:00 THIS AFTERNOON. REALLY GOT STRENGTHENED RIGHT THROUGH HERE. THIS IS WHERE WE SAW MOST OF OUR DAMAGE. DAMAGE REPORTS COMING IN. YOU COULD SEE THE BROAD AREA AS YOU HEAD OUT TOWARDS HOLYOKE, MOSTLY IT WAS SOME TREES AND THE OCCASIONAL POWER LINE DOWN. CERTAINLY SOME GUSTY WINDS. THE RAIN HAS PRETTY MUCH MOVED OFFSHORE. MOST OF THE ACTIVITY IS OVER THE SOUTH SHORE AREA THESE THUNDERSTORMS COME ROARING ACROSS THE STATE AND GET CLOSE TO THE OCEAN. THEY START DRAWING AND THAT COOL AIR. WE ARE SEEING A LITTLE AREA ALONG PLYMOUTH AND 44 STRETCHING ITS WAY BACK TOWARDS TIME AND IT IS MUCH MORE BROKEN. STILL HAS NOT MADE IT ACROSS THE CANAL ALTHOUGH WE ARE STARTING TO SEE A LITTLE SPOT. OTHERWISE YOU ARE LOOKING AT THIS AREA HERE. IT WILL SLOWLY WORK ITS WAY ACROSS AREA IT IS GOING ABOUT 35 MILES PER HOUR IN THE WESTERN PART OF THE STATE. EASTERN PART OF THE STATE IS DOWN TO ABOUT 20-25 MILES PER HOUR. A LOT OF LIGHTNING AND THUNDER OFF THE COAST. MIGHT HAVE A RUMBLE OF THUNDER NEAR THE BEACH. NOT THAT MUCH LIGHTING DOWN HERE TO THE SOUTH
