Alleghany County family loses home to fire for second time in six months

A family in Alleghany County is recovering from a fire that destroyed their home and all of their belongings.

The fire happened Thursday night in the 5600 block of Johnson's Creek Road, according to a social media post from the Highlands Media Group.

A couple and their two young children lived in the home but were able to get out safely. According to the Highlands Media Group, this is the second time in six months that the family has lost their home and belongings in a fire.

The Highlands Media Group is working to collect items for the family. Information about the collection can be found in a social media post embedded within this story.

Firefighters from Dunlap, Covington, and Falling Spring were called to battle the fire.
