A 32-year-old woman with a protective order against her alleged attacker has been identified as the victim in a fatal stabbing incident outside Wilmington Tuesday, New Castle County Police announced that evening. 

According to authorities, 36-year-old Carlos Ferrer-Vasquez was charged with the fatal stabbing of Dimary Vasquez-Rolon in the unit block of Robinson Lane in the Maryland Park Apartments around 12:25 a.m. on April 23, 2019. 

Police located the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds to her upper torso, they said, and despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead at an area hospital. 

Ferrer-Vasquez, ex-husband to Vasquez-Rolon, was taken into custody after police contacted him and asked him to return tot he scene. He was charged with felony first-degree intentional murder, felony possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony, criminal contempt of a domestic violence protective order, and felony possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited. He was committed to the custody of the Department of Correction in lieu of $275,000 cash-only bond.
