Dover only claimed two gold medals, but their team effort proved enough to outpoint Salesianum to win the 2019 DIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Landover, Maryland.

Dover only won two events, but their field event depth proved enough to counter Salesianum's long-distance skill as they won their first DIAA Indoor Track & Field title in 4 years Saturday in Landover, Maryland.

Bradley Anyanwu won the Senators' only individual title with a gold medal in the Shot Put, but just as important was Jordan McGee's 3rd place finish.

McGee also added a 4th place finish in the high jump, while Tamir Caldwell and Javon Peace went 4-5 in the Long Jump for even more points in events Salesianum did not finish in a scoring position.

Salesianum found itself locked in duals in their strength, although Michael Keehan, Sean Banko, and Ryan Banko went 1-2-5 in the 1600m.

Wilmington Charter's Andrew Avila outkicked Sean Banko to win the 3200m, while Keehan had to settle for 3rd behind Lake Forest's Shane Massey in the 800m.

Appoquinimink's Xavier Phoenix flew the best, claiming both the long and triple jump competitions to become the only double individual champion.

No other school claimed a double champion.

CR's Leon Jett won the 55m hurdles before William Penn's Matthew Hibbert claimed the 55m flat. Delcastle's Clarence Smith proved best in the 400m, while Smyrna's Raymond Nyameke won the 200m.

On the field, Elijah Wilson of Middletown won the High Jump, and A.I. duPont's Leroy Lynch's soared to win the pole vault.

Salesianum's 2nd place finish is their 7th straight top 3 finish at the DIAA Track Meet.
