Baton Rouge man shoots co-worker after altercation at Laplace Sonic
A Baton Rouge man has been arrested in connection with a shooting at a Sonic in Laplace Wednesday night.
Kamonte Lamon Robinson, 23, of Baton Rouge was arrested and charged on suspicion of attempted second degree murder in the shooting of a 26-year-old male co-worker.
On Wednesday around 9 p.m., officers responded to Sonic Drive-In in LaPlace in reference to a man being shot.
Upon arrival, deputies found the victim lying on the ground at Sonic, with several gunshot wounds.
Through investigation, officers learned Robinson and a co-worker had a verbal altercation earlier in their shift.
After closing, the victim was taking trash to a dumpster where Robinson shot him.
Robinson then fled the scene on foot through the strip mall parking lot, according to police.
Officers found Robinson walking out of a fire exit at CVS Pharmacy where he was taken into custody, according to police.
The victim was airlifted to a New Orleans hospital where he is in stable condition.
No one else was injured during the incident.
Robinson is being held in custody in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
