New Orleans reminds residents to take advantage of money-saving solar panel program
The City of New Orleans is reminding residents of the benefits of its Solar For All NOLA program. It is a solar rooftop program available to all city homeowners and small businesses. The program is designed to reduce energy costs while creating quality jobs and making the city more climate-resilient. "After your panels are installed and we have completed the audit then we activate it," said Doug Melancon with PosiGen. "When that is done it is $8 a month for eight months."Dwana Smith has been a participant of the program and said she has saved money. "We had this installed in August 2013, and we have saved up to $11,488 from that." Officials hope residents will take advantage of the money-saving option.
