A series of public transportation open houses begins Monday in New Orleans. The meetings are part of the New Links study, a year-long effort by the Regional Planning Commission to redesign the network of public transportation in Orleans, Jefferson and St. Bernard parishes. "At the end of the day, if this study doesn’t have a lot of public input, it’s just a stack of paper," said Jason Sappington with the Regional Planning Commission. "We really need the people that use the system to talk to us - to tell us what their needs are and how those needs are not being met."Monday’s meeting is from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Dominican High School at 7701 Walmsley Avenue in New Orleans. Additional meetings are planned this week and in July. To view the list of meetings, visit norpc.org or click here.
