Tracking Cristobal: Storm moves out of area, impacts still possible
Tropical Depression Cristobal has moved out of our area, but impacts will continue into midweek.
As of 10 a.m., the center of Tropical Depression Cristobal was around 15 miles east of Monroe, Louisiana.
The depression is moving northwest near 15 mph.
This general motion will continue today before it turns north tonight. On the forecast track, the center of Cristobal should move through Arkansas and eastern Missouri tonight and Tuesday and reach Wisconsin and the western Great Lakes by Wednesday, where it will be post tropical
COASTAL FLOODING POSSIBLE:Water levels will remain elevated, even as Cristobal pulls north-northwest away from the area. Minor to moderate coastal flooding will be possible. The deepest water will occur along the immediate coast and in areas of onshore winds, and will be most likely around high tide Monday and Tuesday. Up to 3 feet of inundation will be possible.
FLOOD WATCH: The tail of Cristobal will result in locally heavy rain potential for the area through Monday afternoon. An additional 1 to 3 inches of rain will be possible, with isolated higher totals
TORNADOES/WATERSPOUTS: There will be an isolated risk of waterspouts with some of the rotating bands that move onshore.
TODAY: Showers and slight chance of thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 80s. South winds 15 to 25 mph. Chance of precipitation 90%.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy. A 20% chance of showers in the evening. Lows in the upper 70s. South winds 10 to 15 mph.
