BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) – A team from Virginia is in the Miami Valley to help look for Cheryl Coker. They’re part of a film production company. They just want to help find Cheryl Coker. It’s the second recent missing persons case to bring them to the Miami Valley.

“To see if we can help the family out in any way to find some answers to find out what happened to Cheryl. That’s ultimately everyone’s goal.”

Josh Fourman and his team are hoping to uncover any new information that may comfort the Coker family, even if they don’t find Cheryl.

“When we go out and do searches, what we’re looking for, depending on how old the cases, will be looking for clothing. This time of year is a perfect time to do searches because vegetation is down.”

Fourman started work on a tv show a year ago, since then he has dug into several missing persons cases around the country. He first came to the Miami Valley to research the Chelsey Coe disappearance, before shifting to the Coker case.

Fourman says he doesn’t want to step on the toes of Riverside Police, who have been working the case every day since Coker went missing. “We do work with law-enforcement from time to time, some agencies are pretty closed off to any outside help and other ones welcome our help. But our main focus is helping the family find answers, and make sure we don’t do anything to jeopardize the case.”

Fourman says he’s noticed some similar trends from case to case.

“Usually a lot of these cases will follow a certain pattern. They’ll pull up, dump the body fairly close to the parking area. It’s not like you’re going to carry an adult 10 miles into the woods, so the searches are pretty quick and thorough.”

Riverside Police were unavailable for an interview Saturday, but the department has dedicated a detective to this case fulltime.
