Christopher Figueroa of Rivesville was taken into custody Wednesday morning with connection to a bank robbery in Bridgeport.

According to the criminal complaint, Figueroa went into Huntington Bank on West Main Street Tuesday. He gave a note to the teller stating to keep calm and give him all the 100's, 50's and 20's and everything stays fine.

The teller gave Figueroa money, then he left the bank, according to the complaint. He was identified from surveillance video.

Figueroa is is being charged with robbery of a banking institution and several outstanding state warrants from various jurisdictions.

He being held at North Central Regional Jail with bail set over $1 million.

Police have released the name of the alleged Bridgeport bank robber.

According to a press release from Bridgeport Police, 35-year-old Christoper Figueroa was taken into custody at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at a motel on Locust Avenue. He was arrested without incident.

Figueroa is being charged with robbery of a banking institution and several outstanding state warrants from various jurisdictions. He appeared before Marion County Magistrate Williams Holmes who set bond at $300,000.

Bridgeport Police say officers were alerted to a bank alarm at Huntington Bank Tuesday afternoon. Officers from multiple agencies responded. Within minutes, officers began searching the area for the suspect.

"Within minutes, numerous officers converged on the area and began the search for the suspect," said Bridgeport Police Chief John Walker.

Officers from the Harrison County Sheriff's Department. West Virginia State Police, Clarksburg Police, FBI, ATF, Fairmont Police, Three Rivers Task Force and the Whitehall Police Department assisted Bridgeport Police with the investigation. Bridgeport Police say they are appreciative of their support.

Harrison County Sheriff Robert Matheny said he hopes the cooperation shown between agencies sends a message.

"Not only to the community but to the bad guys. If you come here, we’re a force to be reckoned with,” Matheny said.

Bridgeport Police said they want to thank community members who came forward to assist with the investigation.

Details of the incident were kept confidential for investigation purposes, the press release says.

"Number one, there was never a weapon that we were aware of. We were pretty sure the direction he went in after the incident," Walker said.

An arrest was made in connection to a Bridgeport bank robbery Tuesday, according to our media partners at Connect Bridgeport.

Multiple agencies responded to Huntington Bank on West Main Street Tuesday afternoon regarding an apparent robbery.

According to Harrison County 911 officials, the call came in around 2:40 p.m.

The call was for an armed robbery, but it was determined that it was not an armed robbery, 911 officials said.

911 said that police are looking for a suspect.

Bridgeport Police Department, Clarksburg Police Department, Harrison County Sheriff's and West Virginia State Police are on scene, according to 911 officials.

Bridgeport Police Department will be investigation.
