Speakers and performers took to the stage at Reservoir Park Saturday to encourage people to vote. The four-hour event featured live music and speeches to remind people to stand up and take action, says Dauphin County Commissioner George Hartwick.Organizers of the event say their goal was to get young people interested in political action and voting since they are the future. Several local groups set up booths on the lawn to connect with voters and help some voters register for the first time.Leta Beam of Power to the Hill tells us, "I think this is one of those consequential moments when this election will matter dearly to so many of us."Organizers of the event say the groups registered 150 new voters. The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 19. You can get a voter registration form on the Pennsylvania Voter Registration website.
