NEARLY 200 CATHOLIC BISHOPS FROM AROUND THE WORLD ARE ATTENDING A FOUR DAY CONFERENCE ON DEALING WITH THE ISSUE. VICTIMS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ADDRESS THE MEETING DIRECTLY. A Pennsylvania state lawmaker, who is a survivor of clergy abuse will be at the Vatican during the pope's summit on sex abuse in the catholic church.Representative Mark Rozzi, a democrat from Berks county, was abused by a priest when he was 13- years-old. Rozzi will be at the Vatican with a small delegation of Pennsylvania clergy abuse victims this week. Nearly 200 catholic bishops from around the world are attending a four-day conference on dealing with the issue. Victims will not be able to address the meeting directly. On Wednesday, they will meet with Vatican officials who will take their concerns to the bishops.“Our message to the pope will be to stand down, “said Rozzi. “Tell the bishops to stand down to stop blocking civil justice for all victims of sexual abuse."Rozzi has been pushing to change the law to give victims more time to sue. Clergy abuse received national attention after a Pennsylvania grand jury report into the catholic church.The Vatican has defrocked hundreds of priests worldwide and several bishops connected with the abuse issue.
