LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One woman was killed in a shooting near Smoketown Saturday night.
The coroner's office confirmed La'Deju Neal, 32, died at UofL Hospital after a shooting on the 700 block of S. Clay Street.
LMPD responded to the shooting at around 11 p.m. Saturday. Neal was taken to the hospital in critical condition. A short time later, a second victim arrived at the hospital by private transport. His injuries were non-life threatening.
Neal died the next day. The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating.
Police said they do not believe either shooting is connected to protests.
