Springfield detectives find materials from vehicle not drug-related

Springfield police have concluded that the vehicle, which was stopped on East College Avenue, did not contain a mobile meth lab.

Detectives at the scene concluded that one item was drug paraphernalia, but the rest was not drug-related.

INITIAL REPORT:

Springfield police are investigating a vehicle which initial reports indicated may contain a mobile meth lab.

According to police officials, emergency crews originally responded to a traffic stop where two people had apparently overdosed.

These two people walked away from the scene before police arrived. Police made contact with the owner of the vehicle.

In the vehicle, officers found unidentified drug paraphernalia, part of which they described as looking like a bong, and others as materials in containers.

They are currently waiting on detectives to aid identifying the unidentified paraphernalia.
