Police cancel Senior Alert after missing Virginia man found safely

UPDATE (April 24):

The Virginia State Police have canceled a Senior Alert for 87-year-old Albert Vandegriek, of Sterling.

Police say he was safely located.

The Virginia State Police need your help locating a missing elderly man.

Police say Albert Vandegriek, 87, of Sterling, Va. was last seen April 22 around 2 p.m. at Providence Village Drive in Sterling. He was driving a white 2004 Subaru station wagon with VA plates ZJ-2363.

Vandegriek stands 6'2" tall and weighs 195 lbs. He's described as a white man with blue eyes and white hair, last seen wearing a black and white shirt with gray pants.

Police say Vandegriek suffers from cognitive impairment and is believed to be in danger.

For that reason, police issued a senior alert on behalf of the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
