Construction of Topeka Walmart distribution center begins

Heavy equipment is at work at the site of a new Walmart distribution center in South Topeka. The $1.8 million facility is under construction at the Kanza Fire Commerce Site off Highway 75 and Southwest 77th St, near the Mars Chocolate plant.
The Greater Topeka Partnership approved incentives for the project last December. The distribution center is expected to bring 300 new jobs to the area.
