Bed Bath & Beyond announced last week they would be closing 60 stores across the nation, but they have not said what stores will shutter just yet.

13 NEWS reached out to the company about the fate of the Topeka store. They would not say if the store would close, but did say they are trying to find a “better balance between our physical and digital presence.”

The chain has around 1,000 stores in the United States. They plan on closing 40 Bed Bath & Beyond store fronts and 20 other concept stores.

The location on SW Wanamaker is the only one in Topeka. They also have locations in Manhattan, Lawrence, Kansas City and Wichita.

The company has been struggling. Reports show same-store sales have fallen two years in a row and their stock has plummeted nearly 85%.
