The Shawnee Co. District Attorney's Office announced charges against the 19-year-old whose threat against Topeka West High School forced officials there to activate its secured campus procedures earlier this week.

Twenty-year-old Isaiah K. Hodge faces a single count of aggravated criminal threat, a level five felony, and is being held on a $100,000 bond, District Attorney Mike Kagay said. He added no court dates have scheduled.

The DA's Office explained the Topeka West administrators stepped up security Tuesday after police learned Hodge had threatened a "school shooting" at the school. During that time, Topeka Police officers found Hodge and took him into custody.

Under a Secured Campus protocol, activity continues as normal inside the building, however all outside doors are locked and officers are stationed around the perimeter of the campus, Topeka Public Schools Police Chase Ron Brown explained.

He added students still were allowed to get through with a secure escort, and classes and school activities continued as normal.
