The Kansas Dept. of Transportation temporarily shut down a stretch of I-70, from Topeka to Manhattan, for more than two hours Saturday because several semis had jackknifed on the Interstate.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, KDOT closed shortly I-70 from mile marker 353 (the K-4/Auburn Rd. exit) to mile marker 313 (the K-177 exit into Manhattan). They announced it was back open again around 2:20 p.m.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says there has been many wrecks along I-70 and they are working to removed stalled vehicles.
They have not said when it would reopen.
