An early morning central Topeka house fire was sparked when a gasoline generator was being fueled, the Topeka Fire Dept. says.
A preliminary investigation indicates the fire was an accident.
According to the fire dept., firefighters could see heavy flames coming out the back of a one-story home when they arrived around 6:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Two people were inside the house, at 106 SW Clay St., at the time of the fire, TFD says. They both made it out safely before firefighters arrived. One of them suffered a minor injury, but did not need to go the hospital.
Investigators noted there were no working smoke alarms in the home.
