Topeka Police say over 20 rounds were fired Sunday night in North Topeka, but they could not find who fired them.

Around 10:15p.m. 911 dispatchers received several calls from around NE Grant and NE Monroe, saying they could hear someone shooting a gun.

The first officers who arrived in the area started to search the neighborhood and heard more shots being fired close to them.

An emergency call was put out to other officers to respond due to how close the gunfire was to the first responders.

Crews set up a perimeter and used a loud speaker ordering the person who fired the shots to surrender, but they could not pinpoint the exact location the rounds were fired.

After an extensive search, police were not able to locate the person responsible.

They are still investigating. Anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 234-0007.
