Police have finished investigating a bomb threat called into a restaurant in downtown Topeka.

According to TPD, they shutdown a section Kansas Ave from 6th to 8th.

“Side streets in the surrounding area may be impacted,” said police in a tweet.

Officers say a man called the Iron Rail around 2:00p.m. and said an item was left inside the restaurant.

The man made some demands and then stated he didn't believe in things the government does, and ended saying the device would detonate in 25 to 30 minutes.

The TPD Bomb Unit and a Police K-9 from the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office that is specialized in Bomb Detection cleared the building and did not locate anything suspicious.

All streets in the area reopened shortly after 3:15 p.m. The investigation into the threat is ongoing.
