Senator Jerry Moran made a stop in Topeka on Saturday as part of his Kansas Listening Tour.

Area residents were encouraged to attend and share feedback with Senator Moran.

The purpose of the Listening Tour is so he can have conversations with Kansans.

Senator Moran told 13 News there is value in him knowing how the people feel.

The variety of topics discussed were critical issues facing Kansans and the nation.

A major topic was the Declaration of Emergency to fund the border wall.

Senator Moran talked about his reaction to the President's decision saying, "I would prefer that the President not go down this path. I have genuine concern about what it means for the future, if this becomes a practice."

Senator Moran plans to take what was discussed Saturday, and focus it into the work he does on Capitol Hill.
