Suspect arrested in Sunday evening shooting in Topeka

An18-year-old was arrested in connection with a Sunday evening shooting in northeast Topeka.

According to the Topeka Police Dept., officers responded shortly before 7 p.m. following reports of a shooting near NW Morse St. and Central Ave.

Investigators identified Jacob I. Reisinger as a suspect in the case and he was taken into custody without incident. He is accused of shooting Shawn Bell, 29, whom officers found suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Police say Resinger and Bell knew each other prior to the shooting.

Reisinger was arrested on counts of aggravated battery, felon in possession of a firearm, and criminal discharge of a firearm.

The Topeka Police Dept. noted their appreciation for the public's assistance in Reisinger's arrest.
