TPD warns of increased criminal activity in part of south Topeka
The Topeka Police Dept. is warning some residents about increased criminal activity in their part of town, including a suspicious individual in the area who has even tried to crawl into homes through doggy doors.
TPD is asking everyone who lives is the area from SW 31st St. to 37th St., between SW Burlingame Rd. and Topeka Blvd., to be especially vigilant about securing their homes, vehicles, and belongings.
Investigators say they are getting more and more reports of someone who has been lurking, checking to see if doors and windows are locked, and even breaking into homes. The individual, who has not been identified, has been most active between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m., they added.
Anyone who has seen or has video footage of that person is asked to call the Topeka Police Dept. at 785-368-9431 or to email investigators at
