A Topeka man is a finalist to has his custom classic truck... Immortalized as a hot wheel!

Calvin Lutz used the cab of a 1969 International Harvester as the inspiration for this unique hot rod.

It's among 18 regional winners in the Hot Wheels Legends Tour.

The truck is headed to Las Vegas this week to compete for the grand prize - the winner's vehicle will be the model for a hot wheels die-cast toy car.

Lutz spent three months using assorted parts from his shop to bring his creation to life.

“I used to restore cars and that got kind of boring,” Lutz said. “You've seen a gazillion Camaros and so I started wanting to create my own ideas. I get a lot of thumbs up and i get people who about wreck their cars when they turn around and looking at it.”

The winner will be named November 5th during the Sema Automotive Trade Show.
