A woman who operated massage parlors in both Topeka and Lawrence pleaded guilty Tuesday to operating a prostitution business.

Weiling Nielson, 54, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy, according to U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister.

Nielsen owned and operated Jasmine Massage in Topeka, formally located at 733 S Kansas Ave., and Naimi Asian Massage and Serenity Health Spa in Lawrence.

In her plea, she admitted the massage parlors provide sexual services to customers in exchange for cash. She and others advertised the services online. Nielson and her husband deposited the cash into various bank accounts and purchased money orders to deposit in bank accounts in California.

Nielson's sentencing is set for May 15th. Both parties are recommending three years on federal probation and Nielsen agreed to pay a $650,000 judgement, which represents the proceeds she made from the business.

Nielson was not the only person involved in the prostitution ring.
