Topekan Marty Patterson will discuss how students navigated through desegregation in Topeka

With All Deliberate Speed is the title of the League of Women Voters Topeka Shawnee County Tuesday Topics presentation on February 4th.

Marty Patterson of the Brown v. Board Sumner Legacy Trust board and League of Women Voters will discuss how students navigated through desegregation in Topeka.

Patterson assisted with the creation of the documentary film "I Just Want to Testify" about the students of segregation in Topeka. In January 2019 she was honored with the Civil Rights award from Living the Dream. In January 2020, she was honored locally with an award of excellence from the Greater Topeka Partnership.

The event will be on February 4 at 12 p.m. at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library in the Marvin Auditorium. It is free and open to the public. Lunch will be available for $10 at 11:30 a.m.
