PARENTS at Larkrise say they will raise money to pay for legal costs and challenge the decision to create one large special school for North Wiltshire.

Responding to the decision which could see Larkrise School in Trowbridge close in 2023, grandparent Jackie Hence said:“We are devastated. But the final decision will not be made until March and the Friends of Larkrise plan to set up a Go Fund Me page for legal action if that is the route we have to take.”

Responding to the meeting, Larkrise parent Teresa LiIley said: “The decision is a disgrace, it was obvious they were just letting us have our say. How is one school going to cater for everyone in Wiltshire? 71 per cent voted for the three school options in the consultation, does that count for nothing? We are now getting legal support so this is not the end.”

Parents also criticised the number of disabled parking spaces available after one parent claimed spaces had been blocked off during Tuesday's protest. A spokesman for Wiltshire Council said: “We have 25 disabled parking bays. Two spaces at the front of County Hall were taken up with essential tree works but there were plenty of other available spaces for those attending.”
