EMERGENCY services are today handling an incident at the Trowbridge multi-storey car park involving a female teenager.

The incident began at lunchtime and is still ongoing as ambulance and police talk to the person in an attempt to persuade her to come down.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "This relates to the concerns for the welfare of a teenage girl. It is ongoing and would be inappropriate for us to comment further."

Police are stopping any motorists from entering the car park in St Stephen's Place except to collect their vehicles.

They have also cordoned off a path alongside the car park and the play area in the town park.

There are several police vehicles and an ambulance parked outside the multi-storey.

In recent months, there have been two similar incidents at the car park.

There was one on September 20 and another on November 15. In both cases, the persons involved were taken by ambulance to the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
