People living in Lansing will have their first chance Tuesday to give their thoughts on the city's a href="https://www.wilx.com/content/news/Lansing-City-Council-approves-Mayors-Budget-483277441.html">budget for the next fiscal year.

The city is holding four meetings to give residents the opportunity to ask questions about the city's budget process and priorities.

Four participatory budget nights will be held at the following locations from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.:

-November 13 at the Letts Community Center - 1220 W Kalamazoo Street

-November 28 at the Foster Community Center - 200 N Foster Avenue

-November 29 at Kelly's Downtown - 220 S Washington Square

-December 6 at the Schmidt Center - 5825 Wise Road

Mayor Andy Schor, Department of Neighborhoods and Citizen Engagement Director Andi Crawford and Finance Director Angie Bennett will attend each event.

"We're beginning to prepare our budget, which will be program based," said Mayor Schor. "This is a great opportunity for the public to learn more about the City's budget and get involved in decision making."

More budget nights will be held early next year for citizens to provide further input on the Fiscal Year 2020 budget which begins July 1, 2019.
