2 struck by vehicle, 1 killed in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) – One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Columbus, according to the Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office.

The office says 35-year-old Stacy Hardy and a male companion were attempting to cross Johnathan Moore Pike around 1:30 p.m. Thursday when both were hit by a Jeep.

Hardy was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital where she was later pronounced dead due to trauma of the head and chest, according to coroner’s office.

The male victim was flown to an Indianapolis hospital. His condition was not provided.

The deadly incident is under investigation.
