The 20-year-old man accused of making threats on social media against students at Riverside High School last week has been charged.
During the investigation, police arrested Eddie Seaberry at home.
During a police interview, Searberry told officers he never had any intent to shoot students at the school.
He said he was sorry for the post and prior to concluding the interview, he wrote a letter of apology to Riverside High School, the criminal complaint said.
WISN 12 News spoke exclusively with a family member of the man arrested, who said he made the shooting threats because he was being bullied.
"It was just a call for help. He doesn’t mean any harm. That boy couldn’t hurt a fly if he tried," she said.
The family member, who did not wish to be identified, said the man, a special education student, does not own a gun, and she claimed it was a BB gun in the picture posted to social media.
"He just want(ed) people to stop calling him names. Like, he's reacting like a regular kid would react. Shooting up a school is not OK. Yeah, he was wrong for that (the threat)," she said.
Seaberry is charged with terrorists threats.
His father also told police that Seaberry had been getting bullied at school.
He said his son is developmentally disabled and has a difficult time dealing with certain situations, such as bullying, according to the complaint.
School was not canceled, but Milwaukee police officers had a presence on campus.
Some parents said they have the reassurance they needed with police being on campus.
"I’m glad the police are on-site and taking precautions," one parent told WISN 12 News.
