Multiple rounds of snow have caused major problems for Milwaukee drivers, on side streets, searching for parking. The city of Milwaukee has called for an overnight snow operation. Cars parked on city streets, must park on the side of the street with even house numbers on even days of the week, and odd house numbers on odd days. It's a method Larry Johnson hopes people follow in his neighborhood on Milwaukee's north side. "You know," said Johnson. "There is always a room for improvement, but they did a pretty good job over here so far."Over on the city's south side, WISN 12 News cameras captured several people trying to dig their cars out of the snow. Neighbors who live near Beecher and Layton said their streets aren't clear for parking, but they don't blame the Department of Public Works. "It's no doubt parking is an issue too," said Dennis Drewicz, who's lived on the south side for six years. "The thing of it is, a lot of people would park in their garage, but now you can't get through the alleys and more people are parking on the street."Drewicz said people park on both sides of the street, which makes it harder for plows to do their jobs.On the east side, mounds of snow take up spaces that would normally be used for street parking. Finding parking Sunday night was a struggle for Louis Gonzalez, who ended up parking behind a snow pile. "It was just hard finding a spot last night, while it was still snowing," said Gonzalez. "They didn't have a lot of plows going through and a lot worse this morning."
