Jacksonville man killed in Wilmington motorcycle crash

An Eastern Carolina man has died in an overnight motorcycle crash.
Wilmington police say Brian Blackburn of Jacksonville was killed in the crash on MLK Parkway just before 2:00 a.m.
The Jacksonville man was heading east on MLK at a high rate of speed, according to police, when he reportedly ran a red light and collided with a car that was going through the intersection.
Blackburn died at the scene, while the other driver received minor injuries.
The road was closed for nearly three hours because of the crash.
