One town is slowly but surely returning to normal more than a year after being devastated by Hurricane Florence.

The town of Trenton put up a welcome sign. It's the first that's been on display since the storm.

Town leaders say it arrived just in time for the Christmas and downtown parade that's happening this Sunday at 4 p.m.

Trenton was one of the areas hit hardest by Hurricane Florence.

Highway 41 headed into the town was completely flooded and the Trent River crested at a historic level of 29 feet.
