Wisconsin goes “All In” to fight COVID-19

Are you ‘all in’ on helping beat the coronavirus? 

Wisconsin’s business community is calling on people around the state to do what it takes to stop the spread of COVID-19, and get businesses back to work, as part of a “We’re All In” campaign. 

Missy Hughes of Viroqua is the secretary of WEDC, the state economic development agency, and she told reporters in La Crosse on Wednesday that communities like this one can set examples for the rest of the state.    

Those examples involve the usual practices we’ve been hearing about…such as keeping social distances, and wearing face coverings.

La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat says he knows that people are tired of rituals such as wearing face masks, and frequently washing hands. 

But Kabat says sticking to the health recommendations will help businesses return to a more normal condition.    

Robin Moses from the Downtown Mainstreet organization wants government funding to go to businesses which need a boost after being closed for several weeks under state orders.  

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
