Augusta, GA (WJBF) Twenty two year old Kolbie Hadden Watters of Augusta is named in the Federal indictment accusing him and 5 others of dealing drugs with “cryptocurrency” on the Dark Web.  

In addition to these Federal charges, Watters along with co-defendant Jonathan Lester, face state charges of felony murder and aggravated assault.  According to prosecutors the two beat to death Chase Loffler and buried his body in the backyard of a Loganville, GA home. 

Watters along with Larry Overton of Harlem, Walker Forrester, Jonathan Lester of Loganville, Armand Saedi of Atlanta and Morgan Slaton of Hoschton are named in the Federal indictment.  The defendants came to the attention of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency after they say one of them purchased an industrial grade pill press.  Two months later Forrester, Watters and a juvenile were arrested in Harlem, GA where police officers found more than 5,200 counterfeit Xanax pills, marijuana and a sawed off shotgun.

According to documents and court testimony, the conspirators are accused of creating fake Xanax pills in various locations throughout Georgia using the Dark Web to market and sell the pills.  

United States Attorney for the Southern District, Bobby Christine says, “This case highlights the growing threat of drug trafficking and its associated violent crime fueled by cyber technology.” Christine also says, “This is just a small piece of the puzzle in the growing opioid and pill mill problem in the state of Gorgia.
