= CHIEF SMITH: THE BIRMINGHAM POLICE DEPARTMENT, ALONG WITH THE FBI HAVE LOCATED THE REMAINS OF THE THREE ROAD CHILD WE BELIEVE TO BE -- THREE YEAR OLD CHILD WE BELIEVE TO BE CUPCAKE. THEY WERE RECOVERED INSIDE OF A LANDFILL HERE IN BIRMINGHAM. ALL OF THE TRASH IS BEING COLLECTED FROM ONE AREA. WE FOUND THIS EVENING REMAINS OF A CHILD THAT WE BELIEVE TO BE CAMILLE. SHE WAS LAST SEEN AT 8:30 P.M. SATURDAY WHILE ATTENDING A PARTY. WE ISSUED IN AMBER ALERT AFTER THAT. OUR INVESTIGATORS HAVE WORKED TIRELESSLY 24 HOURS A DAY TO LOOK AT THIS YOUNG CHILD AND BRING HER BACK, AND TO HOLD THOSE ACCOUNTABLE WHO ARE INVOLVED IN HER DISAPPEARANCE, HER KIDNAPPED AND ULTIMATELY, HER DEMISE. WE WILL BE SCREENING WARRANTS FOR KIDNAPPING AND MURDER AGAINST PATRICK STALLWORTH AND DEREK BROWN. BROWN IS IN CUSTODY. STALLWORTH WAS PLACED IN CUSTODY AFTER WE PLACED THE LAST PIECES OF THE PUZZLE THAT WE NEEDED TO BRING THEM INTO CUSTODY. WE LOCATED THE TOYOTA SEQUOIA WITH THE BEIGE TRIM. WE WERE ALSO ABLE TO LOCATE BROWN AND STALLWORTH SOON THEREAFTER BASED ON INFORMATION AND EVIDENCE THAT WE ALREADY OBTAINED AT THE SCENE. LOCATING THE REMAI WERE THE LAST PIECES OF THE PUZZLE THAT WE NEEDED TO BRING THE KIDNAPPING CHARGES. WE WILL SEEK WARRANTS ON THEM TOMORROW. I WANT TO THANK THE PUBLIC FOR ALL THE INFORMATION, ALL OF THE TIPS, ALL OF THE VIDEO AND THEIR COOPERATION WITH THIS POLICE DEPARTMENT AT THE TIME OF THIS INVESTIGATION. MORE IMPORTANTLY, I WANT TO THANK THE FBI, NATIONAL EXPLOITED AND MISSING CHILDREN’S. JEFFERSON COUNTY EMA. GENEROUS DONORS WHO STEPPED FORWARD WHO JUST WANTED TO SEE THIS YOUNG CHILD,, VOLUNTEERS YOU CANNOT ON A SUNDAY EVENING WHO WENT THROUGH TONS OF BRUSH DOWN STREAMS, IN WATER AND IN TRASH TO FIND THIS YOUNG CHILD. FIRE AND RESCUE, I CAN TRULY THANK THEM ENOUGH FOR ALL THEY HAVE DONE. THERE WERE A TON OF PEOPLE WHO WERE INVOLVED WHO WANTED TO SEE THIS YOUNG CHILD COME HOME. I HOPE THIS MESSAGE IS NOT LOST. I HOPE THIS MESSAGE IS NOT LOST TO YOUNG MOTHERS, GRANDMOTHERS AND THE ENTIRE BIRMINGHAM COMMUNITY. IT ONLY TAKES A SPLIT SECOND. WE CAN NO LONGER ASSUME THAT EVERYONE IS A PART OF THE VILLAGE THAT IS TRYING TO RAISE THE CHILD. WE CAN TAKE THOSE THINGS FOR GRANTED. WE MUST WORK INCREDIBLY HARD TO DO MORE AND SEND THE CHILDREN IN THIS COMMUNITY. THIS YOUNG CHILD HAS TOUCHED A NATION. THIS YOUNG CHILD HAS SENT A MESSAGE ACROSS THE NATION THAT WE ALL MUST BE DILIGENT TO PROTECT THEM ALL.

The body of Kamille "Cupcake" McKinney, the 3-year-old girl who was abducted in Birmingham on Oct. 12, was found inside of a dumpster Tuesday, Police Chief Patrick Smith said Tuesday night.Kamille was last seen at the Tom Brown Village housing community, before she went missing.Smith said two persons of interest detained early on in the search, Patrick Stallworth and Derick Brown, will be charged with capital murder and kidnapping in connection with Kamille's disappearance and death.Investigators know of no link between the suspects and the girl or her family, Smith said."We believe this was something they thought about and acted upon. They saw an opportunity to take a young child, and they did," said Smith, who did not reveal a potential motive.Stallworth, arrested after officers located a vehicle seen near the abduction site, previously was charged with child pornography, but authorities said the charge wasn't related to the missing child.It wasn't clear how long the child might have been dead. Mayor Randall Woodfin said the girl's parents were experiencing "unimaginable" pain."This is a tough moment for our city, a tough moment for the family," he said.Gov. Kay Ivey, in a statement Tuesday night, offered her condolences to Kamille's family."The heart of our state is broken...," Ivey said.
