Sullivan County School Board Chairman Michael Hughes reveals that Inidan Springs Elementary School was tested for air quality, humidity and moisture levels.
Hughes claims concerned parents from Indian Springs reached out to the Sullivan County Director of Dchools Evelyn Rafalowski with concerns of mold and air quality.
This all comes after a few parents have posted online about mold concerns.
Back in 2014, Indian Springs was closed down for a short period of time because of mold issues and now the school board chairman says they are responding to parental concerns.
“We did every room individually in the school,” Hughes said. “I think parents should rest assure that we’ll do due diligence and we will be very public about whatever is found and if there is a finding it will be cleaned up immediately.”
Hughes says the air quality results will be in on Tuesday.
