The inaugural MS food and wine festival comes to an end. The final event is a grand tasting from restaurants all across the state.

Hanna Ross states,”Its really cool to see how much is in Mississippi that we never really knew about because if you are from Jackson you only know what’s in Jackson but, its really cool to see stuff from like Starkville or the Delta or just things other than Jackson.”

The grand tasting offered a wide variety of foods and wines crafted here in the state. David Crews with the Delta Supper Club, traveled all the way from Cleveland, Mississippi to showcase a fine Delta dish.

David Crews says,”Being from Cleveland this is something that’s really special to me, so we wanted to do a really cool Delta dish. So we got a Mississippi roast with a spicy cream cheese and a little bit of carrots on a baguette, so it kinda like a Mississippi Delta bun meat.”

There were also representatives from local restaurants like Draggo’s, Pig and Pint, and Babalous. Vendors and tasters enjoyed the event and anticipates next year’s festival.

Sara Dew adds,”Its been a great experience the different drinks and variety of food you get here today, its well worth it.”

Shun Hatten concludes,”Its absolutely wonderful to be able to come to one area and be able to have a taste of a little bit of everything alcohol and the food I think its absolutely amazing I hope they continue to do this.
