For the fourth time this week, a construction worker was robbed on the job.

The latest robbery happened Friday morning in West Nashville on Thunderbird Drive.

Ronald Brazier was on the job when his colleague was held up at gunpoint and robbed.

“He said the guy put the gun to his chest and said, ‘Give me your money,’” Brazier told News 2.

He said the victim was pressure washing the driveway at a new home at the time.

“He was fixing to leave, he was fixing to load up and it happened, and I was like, ‘Wow.’”

The gunman appeared to be on foot.

“He comes from that way and then after he robbed him or whatever, he took off running [and] went back that way. Got away with his money, his credit card, passport all that stuff,” said Brazier.

Metro police told News 2 Hispanic workers seem to be the target.

“They think they won’t speak out and a lot of the Mexican people, they are scared, they don’t want to talk to police you know, they are afraid they will get shipped out or whatever.”

However, several reports have been filed.

On Monday around 1 p.m., workers on Nichols Road in West Nashville were violently robbed by two men with guns. One of the victims was pistol-whipped.

On Tuesday afternoon on Drummond Drive in South Nashville, two construction workers were robbed and on Wednesday morning in North Nashville men wearing all black stormed in and robbed workers inside of a home on Alameda Street.

“It’s ridiculous really and what it is, I think, it’s the holidays, people desperate, I mean, go get a job,” said Brazier.

On Thanksgiving, another construction site in West Nashville on Kentucky Avenue was hit. A few days later on the 26th, someone was also robbed on Leslie Avenue in West Nashville.

Metro police told News 2 North, West and Hermitage precincts are working together on the string of incidents. They are also increasing police presence in construction areas.
