Metro police officers were called to a well-known Nashville recording studio after building’s alarm was triggered on Wednesday afternoon.

When officers arrived at Round Hill Music off Music Row, police say, the rear basement door was open.

Officers went inside and said “Metro Police” and then reported hearing footsteps on the floor above.

According to court documents, the burglary suspect, Alexander Todd, allegedly ran out the door and ignored officers’ commands to stop.

Todd eventually stopped and admitted to breaking into the studio, according to his arrest affidavit.

Police also recovered a screwdriver, wire cutters, and pliers that Todd was reportedly carrying.

Todd is charged with burglary and evading arrest.

According to court records, Todd was convicted of burglary in 2002.

Round Hill Music is located on Grand Avenue near Music Row. Musicians like Neil Young, Joan Baez and Keith Urban have recorded there.
