A woman fought back against the man who broke into her South Nashville apartment over the weekend and robbed her of her belongings, a police report states.

Metro police responded Sunday to Brookridge Trail where a woman reported she returned home to find a stranger in her apartment.

The intruder grabbed the woman’s purse which contained her ID, debit and credit cards, social security card and iPhone.

The woman told officers she punched the man in the chest and he ran from the apartment with her purse.

As police investigated, the victim logged into “Find My iPhone” and tracked the stolen phone to a known homeless camp in the area of Harding Place and Nolensville Pike.

Officers said they responded to the homeless camp and located Mousses Ogastino Eimo, 39, who had the victim’s belongings on him.

Once in custody, Ogastino Eimo was identified by the victim as the intruder, police said.

The 39-year-old suspect was booked into the Metro jail on charges of robbery and aggravated burglary.
