Ohio cemetery celebrates 'National Wreaths Across America Day'

The event was coordinated by the Department of Veteran Affairs and the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

SEVILLE, Ohio — Remember. Honor. Teach.

That is the mission of Wreaths across America.

Wreaths across America is an organization dedicated to remembering fallen U.S. Veterans, honoring those who serve and teaching children the value of freedom.

Each year on a day in December, the organization celebrates "National Wreaths Across America Day." Throughout the day, wreath laying ceremonies- where wreaths are placed on the graves of veterans-- are carried out at the Arlington National Cemetery and at more 1,6000 additional locations across the across country, at sea and abroad.

Today is the day! This is a quick update on the current conditions.... The rain has been steady since before 5 AM and that will limit our ability to use the over flow parking areas. Also, please be careful when heading to a grave site in our current burial sections (10&14).

On Saturday, 3News visited the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio to capture the annual ceremony.

The event was coordinated by the Department of Veteran Affairs and the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
