The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet reports there was a deadly crash in Frankfort involving a semi-truck and a car Wednesday night.

Kentucky State Police say that an investigation revealed a semi tractor-trailer driven by Mark A. Beckelheimer, 45 of Franklin Furnace, OH, exited a Valero gas station before trying to get onto US-127. When the semi entered the highway, it blocked several lanes of the highway, according to police.

Police say that Patrick Scott Hall, 57 of Indianapolis, IN, was driving southbound when his Honda Accord was involved in the collision. Hall was pronounced dead at the scene by the Franklin County Coroner.

Beckelheimer was arrested on-scene and taken into custody by the Kentucky State Police and charged with Driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle While Out of Service, three counts of Log Book Violations, No KYU, canceled IFTA, and No/Expired Registration Plates.

Kentucky State Police say additional charges are pending at this time.

Kentucky State Police are investigating. They are asking anyone who may have witnessed or been a part of this accident to contact Kentucky State Police, Post 12 at 502-227-2221.
