Girlfriend charged with arson and assault after man suffers severe burns in domestic incident

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - The Jackson Police Department is investigating a domestic related incident. It happened just after 2 p.m. in the 6300 block of Abraham Lincoln Drive.

A man was transported to the hospital after suffering severe burns to the body. The victim’s condition is described as serious but stable.

His girlfriend, identified as 42-year-old Fayett Calhoun, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and arson.

The home where the incident happened also sustained fire damage.

#JPD is investigating a domestic related incident that occurred just after 2pm in the 6300 block of Abraham Lincoln Dr. A male was transported, suffering from severe burns to the body and his girlfriend has been taken into custody. Victim’s condition is unknown.
