JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - Jackson police are investigating a shooting that happened early Sunday morning.

It occurred in the 1200 block of Handy Avenue just before 3:30 a.m. at a small night club.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found an unresponsive man outside suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as 29-year-old Anthony McGee.

Authorities soon found a man who was involved in the shooting and he was detained for questioning.

Witnesses of the incident said that a dispute arose outside of the nightclub and McGee held up a handgun.

Shortly afterword, multiple shots were fired. Two different handguns were located at the scene.

Police say that reports of the investigation suggest that the incident was justifiable, currently resulting in no arrests.

The investigation remains ongoing.
